OSA-Wichita Action Items

On-Site Ministry

There are five main elements to ministry on-site:

  1. Prayer and Fasting
  2. Proclamation--Truth Teams
  3. Preaching/Proclamation of Scripture
  4. Protection--sidewalk counseling
  5. Praise and Worship

By laying down our lives as a living sacrifice babies are rescued from death.

Call OSA-Wichita hotline at 316-612-9740 to get the on-site schedule, or come out whenever you can.   Jesus will meet you there.

Pastors/Elders/Deacons/Church Leaders

Each Tuesday, George Tiller begins his third trimester (6-9 months) abortions. Mothers and fathers from around the state of Kansas, around the United States, from Canada, Mexico, and even Great Britain, China, Australia, and elsewhere across the world come to have George Tiller "terminate" their pregnancies. Tiller is almost the only abortionist who will kill babies no matter how tiny or how large.

Each Tuesday, since July, local pastors and elders and other church leaders have been gathering at Tiller's abortuary (Kellogg and Bleckley - 3 blocks east of Oliver) from 6:30 to 8:30 AM (come and go) to pray for the end of abortion and for revival among God's people.  Another group comes to pray from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM on Tuesdays.

We ask all Wichita metro area pastors, elders, deacons, and church leaders to make a commitment before God to come on a regular basis (whether weekly, bi-weekly, or once a month) to Tiller's abortuary and pray.  Publicly standing for Jesus and His precious baby boys and girls may cost us convenience and sometimes popularity or numbers, but Jesus promises us that whatever is done for the least of these is done for Him.  He blesses those who, despite suffering, faithfully follow in His steps.

Will you come and join us on Tuesdays?

Rallies

About once each month we have a rally at a local church or on-site at the clinic.  They are usually scheduled at 7:00 to 8:45 PM, and they include prayer, praise, and preaching.

Prayer and Fasting

Please join us in fasting sundown Monday to sundown Tuesday for an end to abortion and for revival.

Sidewalk counseling

This is a very important ministry - probably the one that most people think of right away when they think of on-site ministry.

However, most people have absolutely no idea of what to say to the scared young women who are coming for abortions.  Many pro-lifers have said, "I don't want to say something wrong and hurt her."

We ask that only trained sidewalk counselors call out to the women entering the abortuaries, unless no such individuals are on-site.  These counselors have literature about available help and fetal/abortion info.  Counselors are scheduled to be on-site during all busy times at the clinics.

We do offer sidewalk counseling training for interested Christians every few months.  Call the OSA-Wichita office at 316-612-3500 for information on the next sidewalk counselors training.

Truth Teams

This is when we take the Abortion and Life signs to a specific location for the purpose of exposing sin.

Recently we have gone to George Tiller's church (Reformation Lutheran) and the La Quinta Inn (where most out-of-towners stay when they come for abortions at his mill).

Church presentations

We have a fantastic 9 minute video, called "I Hear the Voice," that we can present to your church, cell group, Sunday school class, prayer group, pastor, or staff that is interested.  This presents the heart of our ministry.  Afterwards, the OSA-Wichita representative can also explain what we do, and how and why we do it.

Call the OSA-Wichita office at 316-612-3500 to schedule a presentation at your church.

Word in Warfare--Bible proclamation

Chet Gallagher - our dear friend, pastor, and brother in Christ - has organized this important area of targeted spiritual warfare.  He has it planned out so that the entire Bible can be (and has been) proclaimed over a stronghold within 2 1/2 to 4 hours.

We have teams of volunteers (who sign a code of conduct agreement) who read certain assigned portions of Scripture in turn.  The more volunteers, the quicker it goes.

For example:

Team 1 might read Genesis, Haggai, Mark, 1-2 Thessalonians, and Jude. Each person on the team, say 6 people, take turns reading a chapter of the Bible. After about 2 hours & 45 min they are done with these books.

Team 2, perhaps, would read Leviticus, Deuteronomy, Proverbs, and John. They have 7 people and take turns reading a chapter at a time. After about 3 hours they are done with these books.

And on it goes...

We did Word in Warfare during the Summer of Mercy Renewal in July at 5 strongholds-- a local hospital that covers for Tiller, the city hall, the police station, Tiller's abortuary, and a local crisis center.

Since July, we have read the New Testament (2 hrs) and the Pentateuch (1 hr 45 min) over Wichita Family Planning - the other abortuary in Wichita.

If you're interested in this ministry, call the OSA-Wichita Office at 316-612-3500.

God is Going Back to School

This is a very effective outreach at the local high schools. We use huge signs and Gospel tracts and bring Jesus back to school.

Back in 1997, we carried the big Abortion and Life signs and some huge Scripture signs and gave out gospel tracts to about 10,000 students.

Many kids came up and thanked us "SO MUCH" for being there.

Some spat at us.

Others simply listened, looked, and read.

But the important thing was that Jesus became the talk in the schools again.

No power on earth (or principal or teacher or policeman) was able to stop the students from talking about Jesus and the tracts.

Then...

In the fall of 2000, and again in Spring 2002, we went back to the schools with a slightly different approach.

We made big Ten Commandments signs that looked like tables of stone, and designed special Ten Commandments/Gospel bookmarks.

We also brought out the Scripture verse signs from '97.

Finally, we made a brand-new tract called "Stop. Please forgive us."

In it we asked students to forgive us for allowing God to be taken from their schools and replacing Him with police, drugs, condoms, gangs, assault, and terrible violence.

This outreach had a big impact and we were able to distribute over 5000 tracts/Ten Commandments sets to students each year.
